The optical table

To all appearances a classical optical table for studying the behaviour of light rays. this small device does not seem directly related to the discoveries of the personalities shown with it – Röntgen and Crookes – but nonetheless remains part of Dufy’s optical science theme.

Interestingly, just behind the device are brackets holding glass flasks – also classical scientific instruments, but in chemistry this time – that could be connected to a nearby Geissler tube, for example.
